Car Park, EV & Active Travel
- Phase Start Date: January 2026
- Phase Status: In Progress
- Target Completion: May 2026
Upgrading access is a key part of making our club’s grounds easier and safer for everyone to use.
We’re redeveloping the car park with a fully tarmac surface and a clearly marked layout to improve flow, reduce congestion on busy days, and make parking more straightforward.
The plan also includes EV charging points and dedicated bicycle parking — supporting a more accessible, future-ready facility for our community.
Floodlit Astro Pitch & Skills Zone
- Phase Start Date: January 2026
- Phase Status: In Progress
- Target Completion: April 2026
The centrepiece of the development is a brand new, fully floodlit, all-weather synthetic astro training pitch — giving our teams a reliable, year-round training surface regardless of the weather.
Located on the footprint of the former tennis court, this space will be transformed into a dedicated training hub.
The pitch will also incorporate an integrated skills ball-wall, designed to help players of all ages develop touch, technique, and confidence.
Public Walking Track
- Phase Start Date: March 2026
- Phase Status: Scheduled
- Target Completion: May 2026
To serve the wider community as well as our playing groups, we’re introducing a fully lit pedestrian walking track encircling the grounds.
Open to the public, it will provide a safe, accessible place for individuals and families to walk, jog, and enjoy outdoor movement — especially during darker evenings.
It’s a simple addition with a big impact: a shared space that supports everyday wellbeing in Headford.
Accessibility & Community Hub
- Phase Start Date: September 2024
- Phase Status: In Progress
- Target Completion: May 2026
An inclusive facility needs practical, everyday supports — and this section delivers exactly that.
A new disabled access toilet will be positioned conveniently near the walking track, improving comfort and accessibility for all users.
Alongside this, a modern coffee shop and seating area will create a welcoming space to meet, relax, and enjoy matchdays — turning Gortnamona into even more of a true community hub.
